Buy my stuff! [25 May 2006|10:05pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

I'm in the process of consolidating and paying off my credit card debt. That said, I've opened an eBay store to sell a lot of my crap, especially books. PLEASE check it out and--if you find something appealing--spend money! It's for a good cause, I promise.

Hello all. My names Hannah, and I just got this journal, which is for writing. I write mostly comedic stuff, though I dabble in spiritual, erotica, parody, and horror as well. I'd gladly edit or critique someones work if they wanted me to.

um...what else. Oh, I also write essays sometimes. And I'm into playwriting too. And biographies. I'm hoping to tune up my biography writing skills so I can someday put them to some use. I'm working on a novel right now, but it needs a lot of redoing, sadly.

Anyway, I'd love to have some writing buddies (I totally almost accidentally said "fuck buddies.") from this community!

hi im kim from seattle!!! [25 Feb 2006|12:51pm]

[ mood | high ]

marble eyes and trade mark tongue
the memory of your death forever young
lucky charm cheeks daisy lips
sinful character from a wine glass she sips
your taste is tangy and alive
i lost my way in the end do i survive?
chainsmoking lungs fragile and frail
you own my love and my emotions are for sale
fairytale lovers bathing in booze
is it my soul from me you choose?
lightening is my lantern show me the way
i erase your face and mold it in clay
wishful and belated
wired and sedated
round belly and intense face
your soul is a ribbon and your heart is draped in lace
asylum of morphing gods
will i excape...what are the odds?
dilated pupils and bloodshot tear stains
broken sentences in my sleep did you hear about the morbid reigns?
candy coated kisses
serpent flavored hisses
life dies,life bleeds
i demand your scent what are your needs?

introducing myself [27 Nov 2005|10:39am]

Hey guys, I am a British based writer who has just set up a new short fiction website. the fiction is all up there for free and the idea is that readers can vote for stories that they like - the story with the least number of votes will be replaced every 2 weeks. Any feedback or help is much appreciated at this point...
The site is mostly sci fi and humour orientated, but I plan to add some horror, literary stuff etc. What I hope for is that the site will become a collaboration between readers and writers.
Anyway, hope you have the time to check it out,
Dave Moody

Help Wanted [29 Jul 2005|11:28pm]

[ mood | embarrassed ]

Hello. My name is Trish, i'm 16, and I love to write, but I have a problem... I can't spell... I also have stories that I want to share with the web, but the site I submited it to said that I had a few spelling errors and grammatical errors. I admit that i suck at spelling and I think my grammer is alright, but the spellcheck hates me. These stories are rated NC-17 for content, I'm not going to post them here, but if anybody will help me and check over my work without eating it up and cutting it to bits, please reply. I must warn that it's Harry Potter fanfic, but it contains no slash. If anybody is interested, please help. I'd love you forever.

I'll e-mail you the stories one at a time, or whatever, and you can have this feeling inside that you got to read it first...

New writing buddy [22 Jun 1977|04:31am]

Hey, everyone. My name's Danielle. Umm...Basically, I write both Star Wars fan fiction and original fantasy fiction. I'm generally good with grammar, spelling, punctuation, that time of stuff...Characterization...I'm fairly good with description, and I can usually come up with some ideas, depending on what it's for, so...

Basically, I've always wanted to have one person to be my writer buddy or beta reader or whatever. I think I found someone (not 100% sure) but if anyone is looking for someone to help with that type of stuff or maybe eventually co-write with someone, you can contact me. I've never tried co-writing with someone on the net, so I'm curious as to how it would work...Might be easier to do it through a Livejournal or something, but...My main LJ account is jediknightmuse so you can contact me through email or on AIM or just reply to this or...Whatever. ^_^

Can any of you think of a usage of the word "from" where it is clear that it means "before OR after"?

To clarify: If you said "The money is due within 60 days from the receipt of the invoice," it is clear that "from" means "after."

But if you said something like, "The children were required to get their school supplies within 60 days from the first day of school," technically, it could mean 60 days before or after. "60 days" in either direction. See what I mean?

Well. Can any of you think of an example where this is even more clear, where the use of "from" CLEARLY isn't indicative only of "after," where one would have to be more specific than "from"?

And can you think of an example of where "from" a certain date would absolutely mean before AND after?

x-posted wherever the hell I want.

Proofreader Extraordinaire for Sale [28 Oct 2004|03:19pm]

Hey now.

I guess I'm looking for the same thing other people are: proofreading fiction.

I am THE MASTER proofer and am sick to death of editing employee benefits law manuals. I'm thinking something more Stephen Kingish would be my cup of tea... ;-)

Anyway, feel free to let me know of any proofreading/editing jobs you might know of in the Pacific Northwest, particularly Washington.

Mil gracias.

New person [09 Aug 2004|10:32am]

[ mood | dorky ]

Hi, I just joined this community. I am looking to edit people's fiction if they want the help. I mean, more editing can't really hurt if you know exactly what you need to keep. I am a senior at SUNY Albany, majoring in English and Medieval Renaissance Studies.

That's all I got right now.

[29 Jul 2004|02:42pm]

Hi - I just started sylverwriter to be my writing journal. I am highly interested in finding someone to tell me honestly what they think about my writing.

I post bits and pieces of stories, but I am also putting up whole chapters of some of my work. I'm not looking for someone to comment on every single thing that I post, but rather someone who is willing to comment when they have the time - I have been posting a lot lately, but it comes and goes.

I'm also willing to help with editing, commenting, support, grammer/spelling, or anything else that people want me to do. I do work full time, so my time to spend online is limited, but I'll do my best to keep up, or work something out so that I can do the most with the time I have.

I write mostly fantasy and romance. I occasionally post fanfic, but it's labeled as such, and can be ignored. I tend to be graphic when I get into violence or sex, but I try to put warnings up.

Please comment if you're at all interested, either in beta-reading for me, or in having me beta-read for you. Thanks. ^_^

Blueberry Bagels! [26 Jul 2004|08:17pm]

Blueberries, themselves, are good for all sort of baking; muffins, scones, cakes, desserts etc. They're great just on their own or with a little cream and sugar on top.

Writing can be seen in the same light. Writing, when things are going your way -- characters are cooperating, and chapters are running smooth-- can be as delicious. This community will try to make sure your work is like a blueberry bagel – it’ll leave that mm-mm after taste!

Who: People who hope to be published one day should join.
What: A serious writing community where your work will be critiqued. Nothing here will be sugarcoated (if you hope to publish a novel, you better get used to hearing someone’s opinion of your work).
When: Whenever you feel ready.
Why: It’s good to get feedback on your work.
Where: Here!
How: Just join!

*xposted (apologies if posting news of a new critting community isn’t allowed).
